Miracle Meditation

low-res-0828-2For the past month I’ve been teaching a very special meditation at my live lectures. It is my honor to share this Kundalini Meditation to Expand into Intuitive Knowing.

I suggest you practice this meditation for the next 40-days.

Here’s the breakdown of the Meditation to Expand into Intuitive Knowing (as taught by Yogi Bhajan.)

Mantra: Ek Ong Kar Sat Gur Prasad music here.

Posture: Sit with the legs crossed in Easy Pose. Grasp the knees firmly, keeping the elbows straight and the chest lightly lifted. The chin is pulled in gently, to align the skull with the rest of the spine.

Practice: Chant the mantra in a steady rhythm with your eyes closed and focused on the brow point. On “Ek”, pull in the Navel Point. On “Kar”, release it. On “Sat Gur”, pull in the entire abdominal region, especially the diaphragm, lifting everything up toward the ribs and back toward the spine. On “Prasad”, release it. Continue to contract your abdomin and release as you chant the mantra. If the contracting is uncomfortable you can chant the mantra with a long deep breath. Chant the mantra with powerful intention and in a sacred space because it has the power to amplify your projection. This meditation deepens your intuition and heightens your sense of inner knowing.

Time: Begin with a 3-minute practice, gradually increasing to 22 minutes. The maximum length of the meditation is 62 minutes.

Eyes: The eyes are closed or 1/10th open.

IMPORTANT NOTES ON THE MANTRA:This mantra is the only Kundalini mantra that comes with a warning. This is such a powerful and creative mantra that you must watch your thoughts and actions after you chant it. You will be in such a state of manifestation, that your thoughts will accelerate into being. Luckily, the energy within the mantra itself will help you switch your thoughts to the positive. It takes your own negative thought, stops it in its tracks and reverses it into positivity. A thought rides into your consciousness to be processed with Ek Ong Kar Sat Gur Prasad, and comes out pure with, Sat Gur Prasad Ek Ong Kar.”Spirit Voyage

Ek Ong Kar Sat Gur Prasad, Sat Gur Prasad Ek Ong Kar
(Translation: There is one Creator of all Creation. All is a blessing of the One Creator. This realization comes through Guru’s Grace.)

Practice mantra for 40-days. Sing it with powerful intentions and enjoy the release of negative thoughts. Feel the blessings.

Music: Listen to this song and sing along with the mantra.

Thank you Gabby! I’d love to work with this, but need a hand. I’m new to meditation (other than trying to sit quietly for a short period). Because I don’t know what the mantra means (literally), I have a hard time surrendering to it. Is the power in the words themselves, their sounds, the breath work done as we chant? Or do I just not worry about it? Regardless, I’ll proceed with gratitude and trust. Thanks for helping me wrap my hands around it.

    1. Gabby says: October 27, 2013 at 7:39 pm

  15. Lyn says: October 27, 2013 at 10:24 pm

    Hi Gabby,
Thanks for sharing. I have something I really need clarity and guidance on. I have been doing Kundalini meditations for the past 6 months (just the ones you are teaching). They were helping me get out of a really bad depression and I was doing really well when suddenly (and I mean really suddenly) I had all these really weird symptoms and starting getting really depressed again (even with suicidal thoughts). I have very sensitive to energy and it was like I had suddenly attracted a lot of negative energy. When I was praying I felt like I was being strangled and couldn’t get words out. A few people reached out to me from various spiritual beliefs and without knowing what was going asked me what I was doing because they had been told by their guides (or God) that I had opened up to negative energy (and spirits). When I researched Kundalini I saw all sorts of negative comments about how the awakening can go bad for some people.
I decided to stop and my symptoms went away, I was praying like crazy and felt really protected. In fact I went into a crystal shop and the woman in the store said to me she had goosebumps because my guides had strongly told her not to come near me! She said I was being cracked open but i now had very strong protection, my kinesiology friend also told me the same thing, she was being instructed that she couldn’t work on me. It was like there was something going on spiritually and energetically and my guides didn’t want anyone working on me! They were taking care of it.

On Friday night Mastin Kipps was in Sydney and we did about an hour of Kundalini yoga which I really loved. Now I feel very confused whether I should continue with it or be cautious of it. I know energy is not something we should mess with as it can be very powerful. My christian friends tell me to stay away (as you can imagine what they think of it, but I can’t deny weird things weren’t happening!!).
I would love your views on the negative side of Kundalini and how one can protect themselves to really reap in the benefits.
    Much love.
    Lynn
P.S Mastin has been to Sydney now – when are you coming?!! We’d love to see you. Australia needs to be cracked open!

    1. Gabby says: October 28, 2013 at 10:40 am

Kundalini meditations crack you open. Often when we practice these meditations we can feel very exposed. It’s important to know when you want to be open and when you want to shut down your energy and protect it. It sounds to me like you’ve been walking around wide open and therefore you’ve become a magnet for everything (good and bad). I suggest grounding yourself more. Do less breath related meditations and practice being still. Eat more root vegetables and sit on rocks. Literally ground yourself into the earth. If taking a break from the energy opening meditations feels right then 100% do that. Sometimes we have more work to do off the meditation pillow before we can crack open in that way. Protect yourself.

          Hey Lyn

I have found using grounding products a powerful addition (as well as putting bare feet on the earth daily, being in nature). This is not possible for me everyday as I work in an office in the city. I do have a grounding mat at my computer and sleep on a grounding sheet. It has made a big difference. Also I get out into nature (the ocean is fabulous) when I’m feeling overwhelmed by energy that I’m picking up.

You can purchase grounding products in Australia at http://www.groundingoz.com.au. I have the 1/2 sheet, the universal mat (for computer), blanket and the auto seat pads! The 1/2 sheet or a fitted sheet is a great way to start.

          Take care xx

Oh awesome, I am glad I checked back in on these comments. I will look into those grounding products. I hadn’t heard of them. Luckily I live a few minutes walk from the ocean so I have that on my side!

        Gabby and Lyn-
There are some great techniques for keeping your energy to yourself and keeping other people’s energy out in Donna Eden’s books (http://amzn.to/1gY3zlm). One technique is to “zip up”, where you trace your central meridian up the front of your body from pubic bone to chin, then make a gesture to lock it, zipping up and securing the energy. This is a great video that demonstrates it: http://bit.ly/1f1NAOL
        Donna’s YouTube channel: http://bit.ly/1amDcSv

I’ve met Donna several times and her work – and that of her husband David Feinstein – is extraordinary. I think that Lyn would greatly benefit from it.

        1. Lyn says: November 5, 2013 at 5:45 am

Thank you so much Andrea. I will have a look at her videos. Yes I have heard Gabby talking about zipping up (or something like that) I just forget to do it. I need to be more disciplined in it. The other day my colleague had several shots of short black coffee and was wired, so of course I was wired too because his energy was effecting me so much. I need to zip up every time I leave the house!

I’m to this world and it’s beyond amazing! A personal hero I met recently urged me to join NA. I did – with some challenge. 25. Christina says: October 30, 2013 at 12:53 pm

    Dear Gabby,
I’m looking forward to try this meditation. While I thought I “should” be meditating for mental well-being for a long time, I did not start doing so until reading your beautiful book “Add more ing to your life”. I’m an ambitious scientist and lead my own research group. For lack of better words, meditation to me now is like Pilates for the brain: core strength and flexibiliy.
But there’s so much more: thank you from the bottom of my heart for providing me with the means to access happiness through love and forgiveness, also of one’s own flaws.
Finally, even though it is entirely off-topic, may I share a recommendation for another fantastic rethinking+moving activity, although it isn’t for everyone: learn to fly an airplane. Particularly, learn to fly an airplane upside down, rolling and looping through the sky. Combine a radically new perspective with a newfound appreciation for the beauty of our world seen from above and effectively combat your fears (like, all of them :). Be fully focused in the moment while your inner child goes Wheeeeee!
    Much love,
    Christina

I’m getting caught up on the breathing – is there another approach? I really want to enjoy the benefits of this meditation. Thank you!!!

  27. Jessicka Chamberlin says: November 1, 2013 at 3:51 pm

The meditation is powerful. I can feel how much has shifted just in two rounds. I have a question about the meditation:

Is it okay just to have it on in the background when I work, or is it advised to only listen to it when I am setting aside time to simply meditate?

Thank you for bringing such deep, pure inspiration to the world. Things that were previously only available for a select few, now can be had by all. We are all the light. We are all god.

Hey Gabby – Ever since that day last week at ABC, where I met you, heard this beautiful mantra and practiced this meditation with you, miracles have been happening. Thank You.

  30. Andrea says: November 7, 2013 at 8:50 am

I tried this for the first time the day you posted it (the day of a job interview that felt important), using the Spirit Voyage video on YouTube for the duration. I don’t think I fully experienced it because while in it I was worried about saying the words right and getting the breathing right. I know that I was saying the words wrong in some repetitions. Then I wondered, which is more important, the breathing or the words? I was going to ask that question here (and I still am interested in the answer). Then I came to this long realization, from my Jewish perspective, one that Gabby might appreciate:

-I’ve long held a theory that it’s not so much the words as the energy that matters when praying. God – in the classic sense – doesn’t understand words, but energy. The “ing” sense of god would understand both. The intention, “kavanah” in Hebrew, is said to be important. I think this is part of the reason people feel so disconnected. They need to find a way to get the intention in there. The intention informs the energy.

-Done right, prayer is meditation. Those of who aren’t “practicing” but go to synagogue on occasion tend to go through the motions without the energy, intention or meditative quality. Then we feel like we’re wasting our time/going through the motions, etc., doing it because it’s what we’re supposed to do. I always find some prayers that resonate but many that don’t, especially the stuff that seems archaic. I’ve heard the “fake it ’til you make it” argument applied to Jewish prayer – do it anyway, but it’s not an approach I like.

-The Kundalini mantra’s English translation, “There is one Creator of all Creation. All is a blessing of the One Creator.”, reminds me of one of my favourite Hebrew prayers, the Shema: “Hear, O Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is One”, said with one hand covering the eyes (like eyes closed or 1/10 open). Similar meaning, which also connects to one of my theories about how all religion started from the same place but diversified for cultural and linguistic reasons.

I often feel a physical and spiritual buzz when I say the Shema, even though I don’t pray regularly. Said slowly with deliberate breath as one of my rabbi friends taught me, it’s powerful. So I put on the Spirit Voyage mantra YouTube video but replaced the words with Shema. I tried 20 minutes, 10 minutes and less. Each time I felt it. I’ve been going through some of the morning prayers in the prayer book again, starting with the very first prayer that’s supposed to be said upon waking, “Modeh Ani”: “I thank you, living and enduring king, for You have graciously returned my soul within me. Great is your faithfulness.” and ending with a prayer that acknowledges the body, poetic in the Hebrew, skipping one in between. It’s something that I’d been doing for awhile years ago and then lost the habit. I grew up saying Modeh Ani every time I slept over at my grandparents’ house and so the prayer grounds me to that too.

So what I’m doing here is merging the familiar with the unfamiliar.
I’m going to try the Kundalini mantra again – especially seeing how other people got positive results. I’ll worry less about the words and focus on the intention. Jai’s music to the mantra has been playing in my head for over a week.

    Hi Gabby,

Thank you so much for sharing this meditation. I recently just ended a relationship because I was being cheated on…I would not have ever found out if I had not been getting in touch with my ing over the past few weeks. The pain I experienced was humongous, and so much of the content you include in Spirit Junkie and on your blog is helping me recover through meditation and prayer.

I just downloaded the music for this meditation yesterday and I felt so peaceful during and after the meditation. My challenge is to quiet my mind from anger, resentment, and hurt to find what I want to focus on…the treasure at the end of the rainbow.

I find your work to speak very loudly to me. I have started my own blog based on my healing process and the love that the Universe is throwing at me. Thank you for everything you share, and for the generosity of your spirit as it guides others to a healing place.

    Love,

    Hi Gabby,

I am new to manifesting. I have got to this point that I have noticed that EVERYTHING in my life is blocked and not working at all, from health, marriage and abundance. Lifes a struggle (not being negative) I feel blocked. I am reading E2 book and i did the first challeneg and nothing happened. I think I am obviously blocking it. I dont want this any more. I want to be free. After reading some of the comments above…a little nervous to do this meditation. Do you think its a good place to start? Amanda xx

I honestly never comment on posts. However this meditation was probably the best thing that I have ever done, and I felt the need to say so. I have never felt so uplifted or at peace after doing a meditation. It was wonderful.

Please everyone go out and do this, and tell your friends! If the whole world did this meditation everyday we would live in a much different place. Thank you!
